Diy French Tip Acrylic Nails

How to DIY a Perfect French Tip Manicure at Home

Step-by-Step Nail Tutorial

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

You'll need the following supplies:

  • Nail polish (white for the tips and a sheer color for the base)
  • Nail brush
  • French tip guides
  • Cuticle pusher or orange stick
  • Top coat
  • Nail polish remover
  • Cotton balls

Step 2: Prep Your Nails

Remove any existing nail polish and gently push back your cuticles. File your nails to your desired shape and length.

Step 3: Apply the Base Coat

Apply a sheer nail polish to your entire nail as the base coat. This will help the white tip polish adhere better.

Step 4: Attach the French Tip Guides

Choose the appropriate size French tip guides for your nails. Peel off the backing and carefully align the guides along the free edge of your nails, pressing down to secure them.

Step 5: Apply the White Tip Polish

Use a nail brush dipped in white nail polish to paint the exposed tips of your nails. Make sure to apply the polish evenly and cleanly.

Step 6: Remove the French Tip Guides

As soon as the white polish is applied, gently peel off the French tip guides. If any white polish gets on your skin, use a cotton ball dipped in nail polish remover to clean it up.

Step 7: Clean Up the Edges

Use a small brush dipped in nail polish remover to clean up any uneven edges or smudges around the white tips.

Step 8: Apply the Top Coat

Apply a clear top coat to all of your nails to seal in the design and add shine.

Tips:

  • Practice makes perfect! Don't be discouraged if your first attempt doesn't turn out exactly as you hoped.
  • Use a steady hand and take your time to achieve clean, precise lines.
  • If you don't have French tip guides, you can use a thin makeup brush or a small piece of adhesive tape to create the smile line.
  • Let each coat of polish dry completely before applying the next coat to avoid smudging.
  • Use a nail dehydrator before applying the base coat to help the polish adhere better.
